It’s in the foothills of the Cévennes mountains with Languedoc to the South West and to the North East is the sandy Camargue Delta\, famous for wild bulls and horses\, and the production of salt and rice. There is an astonishing variety of sights to see: giant neo-classical boulevards\, twisting medieval ruelles\, a towering Gothic cathedral\, the world’s oldest medical university\, a Romanesque aquaduct\, the garrigue in the distance\, cutting-edge modern architecture\, the city’s fabled fountains\, bustling farmers’ markets\, the beautiful Lez river winding its way to the sea and much more. The wines are just as varied\, specialising in zingy coastal whites\, spicy reds\, juicy fortified wines and rosés of every hue.I am a WSET level 3 wine professional and I will guide you on a unique walking apéritif tour of the main sights and hidden gems in this wonderful city near which I have lived on-and-off for 20 years. You’ll taste a wide selection of different bottles (4 to 7 depending on the number of participants) showcasing the innovation of the Languedoc and Camargue wineries\, and each one brimming with fun stories and anecdotes. \n  \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Absolutely amazing! Can’t recommend a better way of getting to explore Montpellier with getting little bits of history and beautiful wines as well. Sean was a great guide\, very kind and considerate and very very knowledgeable! Best tour I’ve ever had!!!” \n  \nAbbey\, Australia\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Champagne Wine Tasting Weekend
DESCRIPTION:Note: The ticket price shown covers 30% of the total cost of the weekend. \nSEND US A QUESTION \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nWine Tasting Weekend in Champagne\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIt is our enormous pleasure to offer you all another weekend of wine discovery! \nThis November we will host a weekend in the famous town of Reims\, Champagne. Guided by wine expert Sean\, you will taste many AOC bubblies of various producers\, styles\, years and grape varieties – including a great selection from the Aube vineyards which are 70km from Reims\, and therefore sometimes overlooked. What’s more\, we’ll sample the rare still wines and digestifs from this magical kingdom of viniculture! Additionally we will take the opportunity to learn about some scandalously little-known northern Burgundy gems\, and other regional treasures\, as we tour the Salon des Vignerons Independants\, which takes place during our stay. \nAlong the way you will learn all about doseage levels\, malolactic choice\, lees time\, cru status\, grower Champagnes\, autolysis\, remuage\, dégorgement\, saignée rosés\, bottle sizes\, vin de réserve\, marc\, ratafia\, liqueurs d’Expédition et de tirage\, muselets\, pupitres\, guyot double etc and so on! \n\n\nWe start\, as in prior events\, with a wine tasting buffet. This allows us to try some of the more esoteric local classics that are less likely to be on offer at restaurants and winery visits. It also enables us to look at the terroir\, geography\, and history of the Champagne region\, and enjoy some great food pairings. \nThe following evenings you will eat\, and drink\, at two of Reims’ best local bistros. To top off the weekend we will visit an independent vineyard\, and of course continue the tasting. \nIf you haven’t been to Reims\, it could be this wonderful city and its sensational history that steals the show for you! \nFor those of you who attended this weekend in 2025\, all the events are the same\, except we have upped the ante on the restaurants. We will be eating in the more expensive cousins of the establishments from last year! \n  \nCheck out some of the great reviews for Sean’s previous wine tasting events. \nTo book your place buy a ticket below which covers 30% of the full price of the weekend.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nSCHEDULE\nYour Champagne wine weekend begins Thursday evening in the famous French town of Reims.  \n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nThursday 05/11/2026 \n\n\n\n\n\n  4pm – 6:00pm \n  Reims Cathedral \n\n\nReims City Tour \nThursday afternoon: guided tour in the city of Reims\, passing by the main historical attractions and enjoying a Champagne apéro along the way highlighting the classic “maisons” of Reims and Épernay. \n\n\n\n\n\n  7pm \n  Town centre  \n\n\nChampagne and other regional libations paired with local produce. \nOn Thursday evening we offer a curated buffet\, featuring some wonderful food pairings including the region’s celebrated cheeses – while Sean lays the foundations of Champagne knowledge\, that will help you to absorb and understand all the information from the weekend to come. \n\n\n\n\n\nFriday 06/11/2026 \n\n\n\n\n\n  2pm \n  Reims Parc Expo \n\n\nChampagne and wine salon \nFriday afternoon: We’ll attend the famous “Independent Wineries’ Salon” and visit many of the 300+ stands\, concentrating on bottles that can’t be easily sourced elsewhere\, and that add to our understanding of the North East France wine scene. \n\n\n\n\n\n  7pm \n  Town centre  \n\n\nChampagne Pairing Dinner \nFriday evening: sparkles and specialities – dinner in a local bistro with Champagne pairing for each course. \n\n\n\n\n\nSaturday 07/11/2026 \n\n\n\n\n\n  Morning \n  Reims \n\n\nFree time \nSaturday: free time to roam the town centre and enjoy a chilled lunch. \n\n\n\n\n\n  2pm \n  Reims Train Station \n\n\nVineyard Visit \nSaturday afternoon: a vineyard visit to an independent Champagne producer (a rarity in the region)\, including a tasting session and tour of the astonishing cellar. We will take a regional train to a small village just outside the city. \n\n\n\n\n\n  7.30pm \n  Reims Town Centre \n\n\nSpecialities from the North West \nSaturday evening: Another fabulous meal in a local eatery reflecting the cuisine of Champagne-Ardennes. There will be Champagne pairings but we’ll also enjoy some of the sensational food-friendly but under-appreciated wines of Northern Burgundy. We conclude the entire decadent (but educational) weekend with some of Champagne’s famous “marc” and “fine” digestifs. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\nChampagne Tasting Weekend\nTariff for all events during the weekend. \n\n\n\n\nPrice per person to include all tasting events of the weekend.
